Get to Know Me

I am a Fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist practice in hip and knee disorders. I offer a scope of services to patients when their native joint can be saved, or requires replacement in more advanced cases with established arthritis. My sub-speciality interest lies in hip joint preservation. I am an expert in and offer surgery for hip impingement, and bone and soft tissue disorders around the hip. This surgery aims to resolve the symptoms and prevent or delay the onset of hip arthritis by addressing underlying problems. I strive to provide superior evidence-based care to return the patients to their optimal function.

I graduated from the University of Southampton and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007. While undertaking my Trauma and Orthopaedic Specialist Training in Wessex region, I completed two academic degrees: Masters in Orthopaedic Engineering (MSc, Cardiff University) and Doctorate in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research (PhD, University of Southampton). Upon completing my orthopaedic training, I additionally undertook a Specialist Fellowship Training in Hip Arthroscopy and Preservation Surgery in one of the busiest UK units at Royal Berkshire County Hospital, Reading.

My practice as a Consultant in Hip Preservation and Lower Limb Joint (Hip and Knee) Replacement Surgeon is at Wessex Nuffield and Spire Havant Hospitals, and at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.

I continue my engagement in teaching, training and research, and was appointed an Honorary Research Fellow at University of Southampton. I am passionate about searching for viable options to preserve native joints and increase longevity of joint replacement implants. I have over 20 publications in the fields of my academic interest, including Regenerative Medicine, Skeletal Stem Cell research and the use of Novel Materials and Technologies in Joint Replacement Surgery.
